Yoga and Me
I have been trained by some wonderfully amazing people and I always learn something from every teacher I am with. It is my intention to instill a new thought or hope or realization or sense of awareness in my students every time we meet. I am an experienced registered yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500). In addition to my first 200 hour training through Cindy Lee of New York City, I have completed two 500 hour yoga therapy trainings which promotes health and healing not just from the physical level, but from the emotional and spiritual level, as well.
I truly believe that, combined with our current Western practice of medicine, the two will be the future of health care and is delighted to be a part of it. I am also trained as a Usui Reiki Master.
A yoga teacher of over 12 years, I am a yoga teacher at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Wellness Center, the Cleveland Indians corporate offices, and 121 Fitness Center. I also teach privately.
Most recently, I have been loving teaching chair yoga to our aging populations and to those who have limitations getting down on the floor. My mother's slow decline in mobility and sight opened up an opportunity for me to see how helpful yoga is for people even when sitting. Simple movements designed to aid in balance, strength and flexibility are vital to those whose movements are limited by age, discomfort, pain and illness. Chair yoga is wonderful alternative to getting down on the floor and is accessible to people of all ages.
